Cynthia is a senior in SEAS studying Bioengineering. She has been playing viola since 4th grade and her favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. In her free time, Cynthia enjoys making jewelry and trying new recipes. A fun fact is that her new years resolution is to not drink coffee.


Darae Kang

Darae is a senior in the College studying biology. She started playing violin since 2nd grade and her favorite composers are Dvorak and Rachmaninoff. In her free time, Darae likes to listen to music and work out at the gym. A fun fact about Darae is that her favorite fruit is blueberries!


Svanik Jaikumar

School: School of Engineering ’27

Hometown: Dallas, TX

Svanik is a junior in SEAS studying Bioengineering. He started playing the viola upon entry into PSO (courtesy Mr. Hong), and his favorite composer is Chopin. Svanik enjoys engaging in clownery with his compatriots (Nihar and Justin, see Outreach Committee). Fun fact: his last name is actually his dad’s first name.


Maria Evancho

Hometown: Buffalo, NY

Maria is a junior in the College studying Biology. She has been playing bass since the fourth grade and her favorite composer’s music to play is Bach’s. Outside of class, Maria does research at CHOP and enjoys skiing, golfing, and going on walks. A fun fact is her favorite team is the Buffalo Bills!


Jacob Flores Zeranski

Jacob is a sophomore in the College studying Chemistry and Biophysics. He started playing the violin in 4th grade, and his favorite piece is Scheherazade. When he is not in the chem library, he enjoys going on walks to Trader Joe’s with friends (to feed his addiction to their rolled tortilla chips) and doing research at CHOP.


Sanghyuk (Eric) Ko

Hometown: Cupertino, CA

Eric is a freshman in the College studying biochemistry. He started playing the French horn in middle school. Outside of orchestra, he enjoys trying new restaurants, watching movies/k-dramas, and listening to R&B ballad. One fun fact about him is that he’s allergic to watermelon!
